R/GA Evolves Executive Creative Leadership in New York

Chief Creative Nick Law Assumes Global Role, Gottlieb and Wayner Shift Focus and R/GA Alumni Tim Allen Returns to Lead Experience Design

New York, NY, July 25, 2012—R/GA, The Agency for the Digital Age®, is pleased to announce the return of agency alumni Tim Allen and a series of shifts to its creative leadership team in New York. Nick Law, chief creative officer, North America, will now assume the role of global chief creative officer and be responsible for R/GA’s creative output across its international network. Executive creative directors and R/GA veterans Chloe Gottlieb and Taras Wayner will be managing creative in New York, the agency’s largest global office. R/GA alumni Tim Allen will be returning to lead the experience design department, formerly known as interaction design, which was led by Gottlieb.

This evolution reflects the continued growth of R/GA’s global footprint and strategically positions the agency’s creative leadership team on the cusp of its next nine-year cycle.

In his new global role, Nick Law will be working closely with the creative leadership of each office, ensuring the work product around the world is reflective of R/GA’s unique approach and best practices. He will continue to report to founder, chairman, and CEO Bob Greenberg.

“Nick Law is one of the best creative and visionary minds in the business and it’s been a pleasure to work with him for more than a decade now. This evolution in his role will allow him to apply and share his expertise with our rapidly growing global network, ensuring our creative ethos is consistent across the world,” said Greenberg.

Long time R/GAers Gottlieb and Wayner are teaming up to manage R/GA’s expansive creative team in New York, each bringing with them a distinct skill set and area of expertise. With Wayner’s specialty lying in campaigns and storytelling and Gottlieb’s in interaction design, a spirit of diversity will continue to be reflected in the creative output of the office. Both will report to Nick Law.

Tim Allen, who re-joins the agency as vice president after spending three years in R/GA’s New York office from 2008-2011, will be replacing Gottlieb as head of the experience design group, which has nearly 100 designers globally, making it one of the largest of any agency in the industry. Allen recently spent time with both Arnold and Sapient Nitro as a VP & creative director and is uniquely positioned for this role given his deep roots and expertise in product innovation and prototype development. Allen was part of the award-winning R/GA team who created Nike+ GPS, the second iteration of the running platform that forever transformed how athletes track and share their performance. He will be based in New York and will report to Chris Colborn, EVP, global chief experience officer.

“Change is something we have always embraced with open arms at R/GA. As we continue to scale globally it is imperative that our creative leadership team evolve and transform as well,” said Greenberg. “We couldn’t be happier to have Tim return to the R/GA family and I congratulate Taras and Chloe on their new roles. They have both been with us for a very long time and are entirely representative of the unique R/GA culture. We look forward to this exciting next chapter in our company’s history.”
