New York, NY, February 9, 2010—R/GA, the agency for the digital age™, has appointed three new directors to its client services department—as part of its ongoing effort to deliver best-in-class marketing leadership. The agency’s recent client wins, which include Ameriprise, Walmart, and MasterCard, along with the success of its new agency model has spurred its continued growth.

“We recently added three highly experienced directors that successfully maintained long-term client relationships, demonstrated strategic expertise, and launched marketing programs with significant business impacts,” said Dawn Winchester, EVP, chief marketing services officer. “As we continue to expand globally, we will proactively appoint client service leads to ensure that our work is grounded in driving our client’s business.”

R/GA’s three recent client service hires are: Sean McCarthy, VP, managing director, Kelly Kernaghan, group account director, and Michelle Tarr, group account director.

McCarthy has more than 15 years of domestic and international B2C and B2B integrated marketing experience—and has overseen the growth and expansion efforts of AT&T, Kraft Foods, Oscar Mayer, and Gillette. Prior to joining R/GA, McCarthy was senior vice president, account director, at DDB Chicago, where he oversaw the digital, direct, and mass efforts for the AT&T B2B account. His team won five 2009 Chicago Association of Direct Marketing Tempo Awards for its work on the account. From 2005 to 2008, he worked at DraftFCB Worldwide Chicago and contributed to the growth of Qwest Communications and The Dow Chemical Company in North America and Europe. For Dow, McCarthy also launched campaigns in Europe and China, and provided counsel throughout the Middle East and Latin America.

Kernaghan brings more than 18 years of integrated marketing experience to R/GA. His extensive client work includes global brands such as, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Turner Broadcasting, BestBuy, Hasbro, and IBM. From July 2008 to October 2009, Kernaghan was the senior vice president, group account director for MRM Worldwide’s Intel and MasterCard accounts. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president, group account director, for Source Marketing and also held management positions at Digitas, FCBi, Tribal DDB, and OgilvyOne Worldwide.

Tarr has more than a decade of marketing and communications experience and has led digital advertising, social media, web development, and CRM strategies for IBM, AT&T, Alltel Wireless, ACE Insurance, and Amway. Prior to joining R/GA, Tarr served as a senior account director at Razorfish for one of the agency’s largest accounts, Amway. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing digital advertising activities for both corporate and North America—spanning paid search, social-influence marketing, and relationship management—as well as managing the governance model and global expansion efforts. From 2007 to 2008, Tarr was the SVP, client director, at Campbell-Ewald, where she oversaw all digital initiatives for the agency’s second largest digital account, Alltel Wireless.

R/GA’s client services department serves as a hub for the agency’s strategic, creative, and technological expertise, ensuring that the team best meets client objectives. In the past year, the department has grown by 25 percent, with plans to continue to staff accordingly to serve client needs.
