New York, NY, December 7, 2011 – R/GA, The Agency for the Digital Age®, is pleased to announce the addition of industry veteran Steve Weinswig, who has joined as VP, managing director, and will lead the growing San Francisco office. Weinswig brings with him more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently serving as general manager of frog design San Francisco, the company’s largest studio, where he collaborated across offices to insure the delivery of complex products and services. Weinswig will report to Bob Greenberg, chairman, CEO, and global chief creative officer.
“Steve’s diverse experience, unique approach, and proven track record of helping companies achieve strong growth make him an outstanding addition to R/GA’s leadership team – he is just the right person to head up our San Francisco office,” said Bob Greenberg. “Steve also brings deep expertise in leading collaborative efforts between offices, a skill that is vitally important at R/GA because of our operating model. His energetic management style, holistic marketing and design experience, and knowledge of the marketplace will be key drivers in ensuring that our San Francisco office continues to stand apart from its competitors.”
At frog, Weinswig directed a staff of more than 150 cross-functional designers, program managers, technologists, and strategists. During his tenure, the San Francisco studio grew 20 percent by winning and expanding several notable global accounts. Weinswig’s additional duties stretched across a number of areas including operations, team management, and business development.
Prior to joining frog, Weinswig was media group president at Blowtorch Entertainment, where he led the development of their proprietary media offering and designed the start-up’s comprehensive marketing plan and brand identity. He also served as COO for the North American operations of Arc Worldwide at Publicis, where he consolidated multiple agencies into one profitable agency with five offices—doing so without losing any existing clients.
“I’ve always held R/GA in the highest regard in terms of digital innovation, technology, and creativity,” said Weinswig. “The organization is constantly operating at the forefront of the industry, and I am very much looking forward to joining the expert team in San Francisco to lead the next phase of growth.”
