Gabriel Cheung is a tech and innovation-savvy Group Creative Director with a focus on visual design who’s concepted and led some of the agency’s top, winningest work in the last decade. Gabriel’s work not only impacts culture, but also creates tangible business results for his clients. He’s able to fuse seemingly disparate disciplines into cohesive craft, often incorporating his sports and sneaker obsessions to create work at the forefront of culture. Notable work has included A/R Jordan brought Nike, same-day shipping company Darkstore, R/GA Ventures partner company, Shopify, and Snapchat together for a first-of-its-kind interactive, social, ecommerce experience. The work was commended as best-in-class by industry leaders and press, and has swept award shows as an innovative use of technology, including five Cannes Lions, one Grand Clio, two Clio, and accolades at D&AD and One Show.
He also led Hey Google, Ask Nike, which utilized Google Assistant and voice partner, Rain for a real-time, voice-activated sneaker drop during a live NBA game. This campaign used the game as a real-life product demo where consumers only needed to ask what sneakers their favorite athlete was wearing to get a pair. It provided exclusive pre-release access to win or purchase the Nike Adapt BB auto-lacing sneakers and pioneered a new area for voice-activated commerce.
