Kim Laama serves as R/GA Portland’s VP, Executive Creative Director where she guides a growing team of designers and creative technologists to strengthen the product and service design capability with a focus on the office’s future-facing commerce and activation expertise. She’s also tasked with driving innovation and growth for current client partners Nike, McDonald’s, MasterClass, and The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA).
Prior to a year sabbatical, Kim was part of the creative leadership team overseeing Samsung, Equinox, Johnson & Johnson among others at R/GA New York. She was pivotal in leading key projects while establishing and fostering an experience and design-focused creative team.
Before R/GA, Kim was Executive UX Director at AKQA and led accounts such as Audi, Nike, Soho House, Verizon, Volvo, and Xbox. In her tenure at AKQA, Kim established and grew the company’s product design practices in San Francisco and New York and co-created New York’s D&I program.
Kim’s work has been recognized by The Clios, The One Show, The Webby Awards, and has been featured in numerous leading publications. She earned her BA in journalism from San Francisco State University. Kim is an avid trail runner and local bookstore regular.
