As Executive Creative Director, R/GA Los Angeles, Lars Hansson leads the office’s design practice and applies human-centered design thinking, an ability to create truly connected experiences that consumers find equally beautiful and useful, to grow brands. He brings together a deep, multi-disciplinary bench of creators and makers, equally skilled in systematic creativity and immersive storytelling, to drive consumer engagement and move culture.
With over twenty years of agency experience, Lars has worked for world-renowned agencies, including Stockholm Design Lab. He began his tenure at R/GA in Stockholm where he helped build the design department and shepherded brand design offerings for the Scandinavian market. In keeping with his passion for innovation and discovery, Lars founded his own design studio, built and developed a startup, and created a startup advisory where he applied design and creative thinking to young technology companies.
As one of the most highly regarded design resources within the company, Lars was selected to head design for products and services and brand and campaign design for R/GA New York. In this role, he led visual and digital brand identity teams for companies including the Ad Council and Verizon, for which he helmed the development and implementation of the telecom company's new corporate identity.
Throughout a distinguished career Lars has developed a unique creative toolkit to help brands combat disruptive forces unleashed by the new economy. He’s worked with companies including Volvo, Nike, Verizon, PepsiCo Quaker, Hollywood Foreign Press, The Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences, Western Digital and numerous start-ups through the R/GA Ventures Studio, for which he has garnered multiple accolades. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Directors of AIGA LA.
