Creative Director - Experience Design

About the Role

As a Creative Director of Experience Design, you’ll be a strategic design leader who connects ambition to execution, elevating how people experience brands through thoughtful, forward-looking design. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems and imagine bold new ways for people and brands to interact. You’re as comfortable shaping vision as you are prototyping it. And you don’t just advocate for great design, you create the conditions for it to thrive.


On any given day you might

  • Lead teams to concept, design, and deliver standout digital products, activations and ecosystems
  • Set the creative direction for experience-led briefs and bring them to life through systems thinking and design craft.
  • Translate business opportunities into compelling experience strategies and prototypes that excite clients and move work forward
  • Partner with Strategy, Visual Design, Copy, Tech, and Account to ensure creative intent holds across every touchpoint
  • Build narratives and storytelling that elevate how we present and sell our design work to clients
  • Mentor and develop experience and UI designers, building a team culture grounded in experimentation, rigor, and ambition
  • Champion innovation through AI-enhanced experiences, adaptive design systems and data-driven interfaces

You:

  • Have a proven ability to lead the design of large, complex products or service ecosystems
  • Thrive in prototyping and vision-making over long decks and linear workflows
  • Have experience applying AI tools or generative design approaches
  • Know how to shape and evolve large-scale design systems or component libraries
  • Are comfortable engaging clients directly, building trust, and guiding them toward bolder creative outcomes
  • Lead with clarity, calm, and conviction—and bring others along with you
  • Care deeply about mentorship, team culture, and progressing the craft of product and experience design

 

You bring

  • 10+ years of experience in Experience Design, Interaction Design or Product Design
  • A portfolio of work that spans digital products, services, and brand experiences
  • Expertise in interaction design, systems thinking, and user-centered methods
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to tell compelling stories about complex work
  • A clear POV on what’s next in product & experience design—and a desire to help shape it at R/GA
