Director New Business Development (f/m/d)

Our New Business team oversees the development of client business across the R/GA network to meet the increasing demand for productive and transformative partnership relationships. They identify, qualify, pursue and win strategic and tactical new business, and create a smooth integration for our new clients into the agency. What it means to be a Director, Business Development at R/GA:

Strategically you will:

  • Help to define and develop an existing new business strategy tailored to the needs and vision of the local office 
  • Help to codify our growth proposition, with a focus on continuing to evolve our client engagements from project to long-term strategic engagements
  • Help to continue to define a new business processes, and manage that process in conjunction with Managing Director and other leads involved in generating business 
  • Help to consider how we also pivot marketing briefs into product/service or business transformation opportunities
  • Help to productise our portfolio of past work

Operationally you will:

  • Qualitatively identify growth opportunities and proactively initiate new client conversations
  • Quantitatively size and prioritize opportunities, with a focus on right fit and scale for R/GA
  • Handle approaches and follow up on new business leads
  • Help lead creds/pitch presentations and complete RFP/RFIs
  • Contribute to presentations and other marketing materials 
  • Coordinate R/GA team members within and cross-office to develop client proposals 
  • Develop and maintain a client and prospect database 
  • Conduct targeted marketing, outbound activities and intermediary engagement 
  • Leverage existing partnerships and look to develop new ones
  • Help lead internal new business meetings and agency updates to communicate our approach and thinking

Personally you will:

  • Leverage an understanding of digital and offline marketing and a network within that sector to drive end-end new business activity
  • Quickly grasp clients’ motivations and needs, and establish a potential response 
  • Understand what is buyable for clients at the point they’re at in the journey
  • Understand the practicalities of resourcing, concepting, production and delivery
  • Be strategic and energetic to quickly build strong relationships with clients and R/GA teams
  • Act as the agent of integration in terms of new work and R/GA’s operation, and the stories around that both internally and externally
  • Become versed in agency & office history, case studies and business/strategic direction
  • Be an ambassador for R/GA and our values with clients and partners

The ideal person

  • Is proficient in German and English
