We are approaching a new era where there’s opportunity for digital health information to finally move toward fulfilling the promise of making care more accessible and better connected while empowering people to take greater control of their health.
But there’s no guarantee that people will see these benefits. They’re struggling to navigate a complex infrastructure and a lack of transparency fueled by data gaps still making their own data inaccessible, as well as long-standing gaps in data and information around how women’s health is impacted by sex differences poorly understood by medical practitioners and how mental health and physical health are intertwined.
It’s those willing to innovate and disrupt who will fuel change and create health experiences that provide meaningful value.
Gen Z and millennials are also bringing new attitudes and priorities to how they approach health, which could further accelerate a realignment placing individuals more in the center of their health and drive better connections which leads to approaches caring for the whole individual – body and mind. Or they could lead to as much frustration and complexity as ever.
