Lachlan argues one way to re-establish trust is to remember who the technology is for – us. He explains that understanding people’s needs is the most important part of building human-centered technology. To do that accurately, there must be more diverse people building the technology. The field is still predominantly white and male, which is not an accurate reflection of the world, and that has to change.
