R/GA Launches Design Training Program

Innovation leader makes its R/GA University curriculum available to the public

New York, October 26, 2017 — This fall, R/GA is set to launch a series of design courses to the public,

specifically created for students who want to pursue careers in the fast-evolving emerging technology

industry.

Initially, R/GA will offer two interdisciplinary courses – Product + Service Design Innovation and

Prototyping in VR – designed to educate participants on the latest trends and practices in emerging

technologies. Students will receive transferable tools, frameworks, and expert guidance and feedback

from R/GA instructors, utilizing the company’s Connected Design TM methodology.

The courses are part of R/GA University, a training program launched in 2008, and taught by the

company’s leading talent. The program has been instrumental in developing R/GA talent through tailored,

hands-on, immersive courses that are designed to strengthen core competencies and develop design

skills in emerging areas.

“Digital is at the core of our business,” said Founder and CEO Bob Greenberg. “We created this

Connected Design approach to product + service innovation because we believe that the new ‘modern’

designer will increasingly have to integrate aspects of multiple design disciplines such as design research,

prototyping, and behavioral science.”

With the development and expansion of connected mediums over the past few years, professionals are

challenged with how to respond and comprehend the ever-evolving digital landscape. From small

businesses and startups to Fortune 500 brands, digital skill sets have never been more in demand.

R/GA University is bridging the gap between this growing need and people’s appetite for digital

competencies, building a community of individuals empowered to pursue careers in technology, design

and business.

Course Descriptions:

Product + Service Design Innovation

In this three-day immersive course, students will be introduced to R/GA’s Connected DesignTM approach

to product and service innovation. Our approach blends elements of experience design, brand design,

prototyping, data, and behavioral science to create branded products/services that place the customer at

the center of the experience.

Prototyping in VR

Students will explore VR technology in a one-day course that highlights the newest trends in the field. The

program will emphasize rigorous, insight-based strategies and create functional prototypes for VR
